Launch of Vision Document for Indonesia Tea Sector

On 17 December 2018, we launched the Vision Document for Indonesia Tea Sector. In this event, we symbolically handed over the vision document for tea in Indonesia to the Ministry of Trade of Indonesia (represented by the Director General of Domestic Trade, Ir. Tjahya Widayanti, MSc) and the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy of Indonesia (represented by Dr. Ir. Wilistra Danny, M.For.Sc – Assistant Deputy Minister for Plantation and Horticulture). Apart from these two ministries, the Business Watch Indonesia also presented the vision document to the Indonesian Ministry of Industry, Cooperatives and MSMEs.

The launch was held at the same time as the Asian Tea Conference in Indonesia. This activity is supported by Solidaridad. The participants came from the world’s main tea producing countries such as India and China. Among them, leading tea associations such as India Tea Association, China Tea Marketing Association, Southern India Growers Association; Solidaridad office representatives in China, India and Indonesia; the Indonesian Ministry of Economy, Trade and Plantation; representatives of tea farmers, traders, buyers, tea associations, Lestari Farmers Association, Indonesian Tea Marketing, Indonesian Plantation Farmers Association, Indonesian Farmers Harmony Association, and many more.
