In 2018, one of the largest state-owned tea companies, PTPN IX, was Lestari certified. Certificates were awarded to two of their estates, namely Jolotigo and Kaligua. The Jolotigo Plantation is in Pekalongan district, Central Java province. Covering an area of 347.61 hectares, the plantation has its own processing plant with a capacity of 15 tons of fresh tea leaves or 3.2 tons of dry tea per day. The production of fresh tea leaves reaches 4,800 tons per year. Apart from tea plantations, Jolotigo also has a rubber plantation. In December 2018, Lestari’s audit report stated that the plantation has complied with Lestari Standard. The Jolotigo Plantation is certified for its plantation and factory.
The second plantation, Kaligua, is in Brebes district, Central Java province. This plantation has an area of 456.29 hectares and has its own processing plant with a capacity of 4.3 tons of dry tea per day or 732 tons of dry tea per year. Kaligua management allocates a special team responsible for implementing Lestari standard in plantations and factory. The team received training on Lestari standard, sustainability practices, health and safety. In December 2018, the Kaligua plantation and mill received the Lestari certificate.
